Articles to be ministered unto Anne Bennett widow

1 Imprimis. Did not your daughter Anne Taylor at any time tell you that when she was  a maid, she was grown in debt, and that there appeared unto her in the night time when she was abed, a man to her thinking clothed all in black velvet, who spake unto her, and said that If she would go with him, her debts should be paid? And whether would not your daughter Anne have gone with him, if you had not been, or what words did your said daughter deliver unto you, concerning the same?

2 Item. What talk or communication have you at any time heard between your daughter and Susan Swapper, concerning the apparition of spirits, or of treasure hid in Master Taylor’s garden, or at wee the farm at Weeks Green? And whether did not your daug[h]ter or Susan Swapper at any time tell you of the going of the said Susan u[n]to the said farm, and what sights t[he] said Susan had seen there, or w[h]at have you at any time seen [or] heard concerning the same? Declar[e you]r knowledge therein.
