Depositions Examinations taken before Master Richard Portriffe, Mayor of the Ancient Town of Rye in the county of Sussex, and the Jurats of the same town, the xiith day of December Anno domini 1608 annosque regni regis Jacobi etc. nunc Anglie etc. sexto.
1 To that Interrogatory she sayeth she knoweth not anything in that interrogatory to be true.
2 To the second she sayeth that she never heard of any talk or communication between her said daughter and Susan Swapper concerning the apparition of spirits or of treasure hid in Master Taylor’s garden or at the farm at Weeks Green, neither doth she know of anything contained in that interrogatory.
3 To the third she knoweth not nor hath heard of anything contained in that interrogatory.
4 To the fourth she sayeth she knoweth not of any such matter as is contained in that interrogatory, neither did she use any such sp[ee]ches unto the wife of Stephen Fre[nc]ham, nor any other person as is contained in that interrogatory.
5 To the fifth s[he c]an say nothing.
6 To the vith sh[e saye]th that her daughter to her knowledg[e neith]er her self hath at any time [been] troubled with visions or any [?other] thing contained in that interroga[tory].
