Questions to be demanded of Mistress Taylor upon her second examination.
1 Whether there were not pales pulled down in your garden for Swapper’s wife to come into the said garden to dig for money, and who pulled them down, and why were they pulled down, and whether you did not help dig there.
2 Whether you did not say when Pywall digged in the garden that you were heir to the money, and that it was not God’s will that your husband should have it, or words to such effect, and whether you have not told Swapper’s wife since that time that you used then such speeches.
3 Whether you did not promise Swapper’s wife that she should have a £100, and that she and her children should never want whilst you lived, or to such effect, or what promise you made to Swapper’s wife of any part of that money which should be found by digging, or should be gotten by the spirits.
4 Whether there did not appear a man to you in the night when you were a maid, and said if you would go with him your debts should be paid, or to such effect, or what other speeches he used to her; and in what apparel did he seem to be apparelled in, and whether she did not acquaint her mother therewith, and what answer her mother made unto her about it. And whether she hath not told this to Swapper’s wife.
5 Whether you did not will Swapper’s wife to proceed as she had begun, and that she should not ?want, and bid her look to it, or words to such or the like effect.
6 Whether after she was you were told by Swapper’s wife that the spirits appeared, the pillows of her your bed were not snatched away ?and drawn in one night, and the doors of her your house did open and shut, nobody being there, and whether her your mother did not tell her of the opening and shutting of the doors in that night, and whether she thought that the same were the spirits or any of them An-- ?Tay--- she you did not tell Swapper’s wife of the same afterwards.
7 Whether you have or have had any part of the money which was at Weeks Green, and whether did not you give six pence for a groat of it, and to whom gave it you, and where is that groat, and whether did not you say so much to Swapper’s wife.
8 Whether did not you say unto Swapper’s wife that you feared that the speeches which the said Swapper’s wife had used to her husband concerning the same spirits had, or would, hurt you or her, or somesuch or the like other speeches.
9 Whether did not you refuse to let out, or did not say you would let out, certain chambers in Swapper’s house, and for what purpose kept you the same chambers empty, and whether did not you say that you kept them for the spirits, or to such or like effect.
10 Whether Swapper’s wife did not demand of you the ?w--- way to Weeks Green, and whether did you direct her or no, and about what time of the year it was, and whether Swapper’s wife did not tell you for what cause she would go thither, and what was the cause which she alleged, and whether Swapper’s wife did not tell you that she ?was to meet one of the spirits there, and what was it that Swapper’s wife told your husband and Master Brasgyrdle Bracegirdle in your house concerning meeting of the spirits at Weeks Green.
11 Whether did not you will Swapper’s wife to demand of the spirits when you should have money of them, or to such effect, and whether did not you tell Swapper’s wife that if you had a £100 or some other great sum, that you knew where to have a purchase for it or to such effect.
12 Whether did not you will Swapper’s wife to cause her to swear that she should not reveal the apparitions of the spirits to any person, or to such effect. And whether was it not agreed between her and you not to reveal the same.
13 Whether have not you heard the spirits talking together, one to another, in Swapper’s house. And whether have not you heard a noise there, or a stamping in the chamber or loft there, and when and how oft have you heard it.
