But afterwards at other times she hath seen divers shapes, sometimes of two gentlewomen and some other time of a man drinking with a np napkin before him.

And she further sayeth, that Master Taylor and Mistress Taylor, both of them, after the death of his daughter, w willed this examinate to

Inquire of the spirits whether that their daughter deceased were bewitched or not, for they doubted that she was.

Whereupon this examinate did ask the question of the spirit Richard, and he answered her

He could not tell, but if they were so doubtful, they should go and inquire of some learned man what the cause of her death was.

All which this examinate did acquaint Master Taylor and his wife with.

And further matter she did never tell Master Taylor nor his wife, wherefore the apparitions in the window were sent.

8 She this examinate sayeth that Mistress Taylor did tell this examinate that she

Did see in the glass window the shape of Master Thomas Hamon deceased, and of Angel Shaw.

And she hath heard Mistress Taylor say that

After Master Hamon was taken sick, that he was taken in such sort, and in such a bad day and ill hour, as he would never escape the same.

And she further sayeth that Master Hamon being extreme sick that night that he died, and the bell tolling for him about between the hours of ten and eleven of the clock in the night, the said Mistress Taylor in ?rewghting sort used these speeches:

“I have a turkey, which if Master Hamon do die ?Se I will kill the same, and have it to my dinner tomorrow. But if he live, I will keep the same till Sunday.”

But he then he dying and the bell ringing out as late as it was, she killed the same, and did eat the same the next day at dinner.

Upon Roger Swapper’s examination

9 She being examined upon the last interrogatory, being the examination of her husband, sayeth that true it is, that the same time her husband knocked at the door, Mistress Taylor was in the house with this examinate. And there the said Mistress Taylor stayed the most part of the afternoon, and part of the time did spend in spinning. And sometimes Mistress Taylor was above in the chamber alone where the spirits did resort, and did wash the p’ glass windows.
