the said Susan,
“We know well enough wherefore you come, she need not to send you up to know who did it, for she knoweth who did it.” Whereupon one of the spirits called Richard (as this examinate remembreth that she the said Susan did tell him) made a sign w--- mouth unto the said Susan, t--- h------ deed unto the said John Cheston ------- Susan did at her coming down tell ------ said Mistress Taylor, whereupon she the said Mistress Taylor said
“Did he do it?” And fell in a great laughter.
And further the said Susan did tell this examinate that Mistress Taylor had received a piece of beef of one of the Harrises wives, but it had been better that she had sent her a better piece. And she the said Susan did then tell this examinate that one of the Harrises wives’ hands was taken lame presently upon it.
And further the said Susan did tell this examinate that at the time that Master Higgons went to church to marry with Master Hamon’s widow, Well Mistress Taylor did speak these words to the said Susan,
“Well,” sayeth she, Master “Master Higgons doth but marry with Master Hamon’s whore, but he shall not enjoy the time of his marriage long.”
Also the said Susan did tell this examinate that[t]--- Taylor did tell her concerning M[aster] Harrison that[t]- was drowned, that
Master Harrison went out in his bravery, but his body shall never be found, and that his head did lay under a certain stone.
And he further sayeth, that he this examinate saying unto her the said Susan,
“Thou must be hanged.”
“Well,” said she, “if I must be hanged, I will reveal that which will hang Master Taylor and his wife too,”
