which as yet she had not revealed. Neither could this examinate by any means get her to confess or reveal the same.

And she further said unto this examinate that Master Taylor did confess that he was acquainted with the spirits but one ---- month, but she said he was acqua[inted]---- them a quarter of ------.

Also this examinate sayeth that he being ----- out of prison and being in the company of the foresaid John Cheston, he did tell unto the said John Cheston what Swapper’s wife had told unto him, concerning the troubling of the said John Cheston with the spirits. And the said John Cheston could not deny but he was troubled upon a certain time with such like matter.

The said Thomas Tompkins was sworn before the said Master Mayor and his brethren that his examination is true in each respect.
