23 Whether did not you then tell the said Swapper’s wife, after she came down the second time out of the chamber, that the bottle in which you had given her the said water was not where she had set it, and whether when she went to see was the same there or no.
24 Whether did not you at or about that time or in Master Hamon’s sickness bid the the said Swapper’s wife to gather some herbs to make some water; what herbs did you and her gather, and for what purpose would you have made the same water, and whether did she gather any of the same herbs. And whether did you make any of the said water and what did you with it.
25 Whether did you tell the said Swapper’s wife in Master Hamon’s sickness that he should die, and that you knew the same, and how did you know the same. And whether did not you tell her that you did know and could tell what was done in Master Hamon’s house, and in other houses in Rye, if you would trouble yourself, or words to some or the like effect. And by what means did or could you know the same.
26 Whether did you not tell her the said Swapper’s wife that Master Hamon should be an ugly corpse after his death, and that one side of him should die before the other. And that some of the said spirits had or should give him a gripe before his death upon his members, and that they should look very black after his death, or what speeches did you use to her concerning Master Hamon’s sickness or death, or the said spirits resorting unto him. And whether you had not speech with Swapper’s wife concerning Master Hamon’s sickness or death, in the time of his sickness, or before or after, and what was the same spee[ch]--.
27 Whether before or in Master Hamon’s sickness did not you say that Master C------ ---he wife should repent it all the veins in their hearts that he would not permit- your husband to pass away his billets, or what speeches used you against or of Master Hamon concerning the said matter.
28 Whether did not you give roses or gillyflowers to your little son to give to the spirits. And whether did you bid Swapper’s wife carry the said child to the said spirits, and whether did you name the spirits to the said child, and what was your purpose in doing so, and whether did Swapper’s wife carry the said child or tell you that she had carried the said child to the spirits, or no.
29 Whether did not you at your coming sometime to Swapper’s house cause Swapper’s children to be sent away to your house or out of the same house. And whether then were not the doors of her house bolted or locked that none could come in, for what purpose did you do so. And whether did you ever perceive the ground of the said house to move where you were, and whether did you ever perceive the ground in your own house to move, and whether did you not then send up the said Swapper’s wife to see if the said spirits were not come, and what was the reason the ground did so move.
30 Whether did you at any time send Thomas Harris his wife to get a piece of powdered beef whilst your husband’s daughter was sick. For what cause did you send her for the said beef, and whether did the said Harris his wife bring unto you any beef, and whether was the same her own beef or whose was the same, and what kind of beef was it, and what did you with the same beef, and how long did the said child live after she you had the said beef.
31 Item did not you say that that hand which had cut the said beef had been as good it had never cut it, or did not you use the like words or to such effect. To whom did you use any such words, and for what cause or reason did you use the same speeches, and whom did you mean thereby.
